What is Dual-SIM and what are the uses of these phones?

What kind of devices and dual-SIM modes are there?

Samsung DUOS models for two SIM cards

Samsung offers a meaningful card management in its DUOS models. For example, you can specify which of the two SIM cards you want to use for telephony, SMS, MMS, or the mobile data service.
In addition, with the J5 DUOS and the J3 DUOS, you have the option of keeping both SIM cards active at all times. This allows incoming calls from one SIM card to be redirected to the active card when using the second card (during a call). Likewise, there is the possibility to hold a conference call and to broker talks.
However, activating this option may result in increased costs for your provider through call forwarding.
