Taekwondo, a Korean martial art, is also very popular in Germany. As with karate and judo, you need a suit for it. Due to the high dynamics and speed in combat, in particular foot techniques are used, it is necessary to pay attention, inter alia, to the material and the appropriate size.

The suit at Taekwondo is called in Korean Dobok. This one is in two parts. It consists of pants and jacket. To tie this suit, use a budo belt. It is available for women, men and children. The suit color is traditionally kept in white. There are differences in the lapel: There are not only black, but also white. Accordingly, the blacks adapt to the belt color. They may only be attracted by the masters, the Dan bearers. This is to symbolize that they have more knowledge and ability in contrast to the students. The non-Dan bearers have to wear the white Rever. Embroidery, which may be present on the sleeves or back, for example, are freely selectable by anyone. These are not found on the pants, because that is rather untypical. Generally, the suit should consist of a durable and lightweight cotton fabric. So the fighter is supported in the dynamic and fast movements. Especially for beginners, this is an inexpensive option.

size
As with other martial arts, choosing the appropriate suit size for the taekwondo is also particularly important. This should be under no circumstances too small, because otherwise the freedom of movement is restricted. If you choose this size too big, the trouser legs and sleeves will flutter, so that it is not helpful either beltbind tighter. For adolescents and adults, the sizes start from 150 centimeters and go up accordingly at intervals of ten to a maximum of 210 centimeters. It should be noted that the Taekwondo suit is slightly worn during the first wash. Therefore, it is advisable to buy this a few inches larger. For a person who is 164 centimeters tall, you can definitely choose a suit that is 170 centimeters tall.

Traditional and modern
A traditional suit contains an open jacket. It is made of lightweight cotton fabric. The Budo belt does not recognize the particular degree, but it encloses the jacket and binds it firmly around the body. The modern Dobok uses polyester or a blended fabric made of polyester and cotton. In general, polyester is even lighter. It is advantageous that it dries faster and therefore does not stick to the body during competition or training, which is why it is particularly suitable for athletes and advanced. The corresponding jacket also differs from the traditional suit: this is closed at the front. She has a very large V-neckline. The jacket resembles a sweater from the cut. Therefore, you can just cover them. Because of this, this loosens during training not so fast. The constant tightening and untying falls away.

Taekwondo suits for children
Because children are growing fast, it is recommended that you buy a cheap Dobok at the beginning. It is advisable to wear a suit made of 100% cotton. Because the Dobok runs in during washing, it should be five to ten centimeters larger. Important in the first three washes is that you only choose the program cold wash. Only later is the Dobok to wash at 40 degrees Celsius. Generally, no dryer should be used.
