Table tennis is probably one of the best-known sports that originated in the Far Eastern World. The network is an important piece of equipment that should not be missed and at the same time seem more complex than one might expect.

Fixed rules

Whoever thinks network is net has probably never participated in table tennis tournaments. The different materials

Different areas of application also mean different materials, which in turn also influences the condition.

Table tennis nets made from synthetic fibers are great for outdoor use as they are weatherproof and easy to clean. Practically here are models that can be rolled up, the so-called „roll nets“. If it suddenly starts to rain, they are quickly rolled up by an automatically functioning retractor and can be safely stowed away. However, the most well-known outdoor ping-pong tables are made of metal, which are intended for concrete tables. These are not real nets, but metal structures that look like a net. However, this variant is more suitable for public areas, such as schools, for example, than for private or club use.

Indoors, table tennis nets made of cotton are preferred. This is due to the elasticity, which makes tightening more comfortable and confident. The cheaper option for this are nets made of nylon. These can also be used outdoors, which eliminates the need to buy two different networks. However, they are more suitable for private use. Clubs and professional players usually stay with the cotton nets.
