Diving Suit Women’s Guide

When diving, athletes should wear appropriate clothing and appropriate equipment. The diving suit is of central importance and reliably protects against hypothermia. In the trade there are the suit in different versions.

What types of diving suits are there?

The water is a very good one ladderand effectively dissipates the body heat. Therefore, divers need a suitable suit to protect them from overcooling. Due to their insulating properties, the wetsuits are personal protective gearClass 2 and must have a CE mark. In general, the suit can be divided into 3 different types: the wet suit, the semi-dry suit and the dry suit. Most divers wear a classic wetsuit in the form of a wet suit. This usually consists of the waterproof material neoprene. When diving water enters the zips and openings for the feet, hands and neck in the dive suit. There it forms a layer between the skin and the suit and this is warmed up by body temperature.

Semi-dry suits are also made of neoprene, are more expensive than the wet suits and cheaper than the traditional drysuits. In detail, it is a variant of the wet suit and this has at the neck, on the arms and legs double sealing sleeves. As a result, the water can not penetrate the suit as quickly as a classic wet suit. Dry suits are the best choice if divers are often in our latitudes. Divers will generally remain dry in the one-piece suit made of waterproof and airtight materials. There are tight-fitting cuffs at the wrists and in the neck area. The entry and exit takes place through the water and gas-tight zipper.

What materials are wetsuits made of?

Most wetsuits are made of a synthetic rubber (neoprene). Behind the brand name hides the chloroprene rubber and this was developed in 1930 by the company Dupont. Diving suits are made of foamed neoprene, which is interspersed with many gas bubbles and has excellent thermal insulation. Additional materials, such as Lycra or nylon increase the wearing comfort and also make it easier to put on the suit. On Diving suit ladies but can also be made from compressed or crushed neoprene. During production, the previously foamed neoprene is compressed by additional pressure. As a result, the material does not contract as much when diving as the normal neoprene. For suits made of the material trilaminate 3 plastic layers are connected to each other flat. The individual layers may consist of polyester, Cordura or nylon. Diving suits made of trilaminate are characterized by a low weight and rapid drying. Professional divers often use vulcanized rubber dive suits. The material is extremely robust and allows divers to stay in poisonous and dangerous environments

Which one Diving suit ladies should be bought?

If the divers opt for a wet suit, then this has a thickness of 3 to 8 millimeters. Wet suits are characterized by a very good price-performance ratio and a variety of uses. They are easy to repair and provide reliable protection against sunburn and cnidarians. Wet suits are ideal for tropical waters. For the European latitudes, the suits are rather less well suited.

Semi-dry suits are ideal for year-round diving in the regions of Northern or Central Europe. They are 5 to 8 millimeters thick and have better insulation and much more effective protection against the ingress of water. On Diving suit ladies in the form of a semi-dry suit is ideal for divers who are in our latitudes and a drysuit is too expensive.

Dry suits are most suitable for cold water diving and are characterized by a very good insulation. They even enable a longer dive without the body cooling down. The divers do not get wet but have to pay a lot for the dive suit.
