That this does not become reality, it makes sense to attach an Aquastop hose for washing machine or dishwasher. Actually, it would be reasonable if all these devices are provided with such a hose, but unfortunately that does not correspond to reality. Especially if you live in rent, such a device would be very useful. If such an aquastop or water stop is not available and it comes to a case of damage, then the polluter can get in trouble with his home contents insurance.
Whoever attaches a supply hose without this device to a dishwasher and this fixed only with a hose binder on the tap and leaves the same open consistently without the matter to check for leaks, acts grossly negligent.

Sensible device – Aquastop hose

There are two different systems that will stop water from entering the hose if it is damaged. These are the mechanical system and the mechanical system.
The simpler mechanical system is preferable to the electronic.

However, the system is the same in both variants, the valve is attached directly to the inlet tap, which prevents the water from entering the machine when water runs out, preventing it from flowing any more water.

Description of various water stop systems

1. Hose protection

This provision detects a leaking hose by an extremely falling pressure drop. The function of this provision is relatively easy to understand. The connected valve takes water out of the hose as a washing machine normally throttles the water supply and the pressure in the valve decreases. An integrated spring balances the outlet pressure.
If the water pressure in the valve decreases, the valve is closed by means of this spring.
The only drawback of this variant, only major defects are detected, minor leaks, however, remain unnoticed.

2. double-skin hose

This system is also one of the so-called water stop systems. This system is made up of two hoses, a pressure hose (located inside the unit) and an outer hose that collects the escaping water in case of damage and leads to the valve. When the water reaches the end of the hose, the valve is closed mechanically. This method is called the so-called Aquastop effect!
The advantage of this method, even a hairline crack in the inner tube leads to the shut-off of the valve.

3. Waterproof system

This system is one of the electronic precautions, while the washing machine with a solenoid valve on water tapfitted. Here leads an externally mounted hose directly to the washing machine. If the inner hose has a defect, the water is sent directly to the machine and the water can flow into the floor pan. In this process, the float switch reacts and the solenoid valve on the faucet is closed.

This system is as safe as the mechanical device, but considerably more expensive!

Water control system

For the sake of completeness, this system should also be briefly explained. Here, the water supply is monitored by means of a water level sensor. If, for example, water runs out inside the washing machine, the inlet is automatically stopped and water is pumped out.

Big drawback: Since no solenoid valve is mounted directly on the tap of this system, this system can not detect any damage to the inlet. Here it makes sense to install in any case in addition a mechanical water stop.

Conclusion: The mechanical system is preferable to the electronic system. On the one hand, it is just as safe and, on the other, it is much cheaper, above all!
