Swimming Pool water ester guide

What is a Swimming Pool water tester in general?

If you look at one poolFor home purchases, this is often not a cheap investment and even the good piece is supposed to last for some time – the right care is more than necessary.
Of course, one of the most important elements is the cleanliness and purity of the underlying water.
But how do you actually define these elements?
First and foremost, the clarity of the water is described by the so-called pH: this includes the „mixture“ of acidic and basic water.
If the pH value is correct, you can go swimming with a good conscience and have a good time.
If this is not true, it can in the worst case by too acidic water to itching or chemical burns – because you work in the pool for disinfection with much chlorine, of course, extreme caution is required.
To estimate this value in their own pool pool water testers were developed: These show the value roughly and you can always keep it in view.

What types of pool water esters are there?
The „classic“ among the testers is a kind of stick, which is held in the water and then displays the value.
Critics of this method, however, believe that comparisons of misjudgment are comparatively frequent, since firstly there is direct contact with the skin and secondly the result can be prevented by other external influences.
An advantage of this method, however, is that the process works quickly and easily and can be conveniently applied from home.
The second variant is tablets, which can be purchased and promise a more accurate level for measuring the pH in the pool.
However, caution is advised! Because: Direct contact with the hand to the tablets should be avoided urgently! This too can lead to a falsification of the result of the measurement.
The tablets should therefore be given directly from the blister pack in the pool, so that you get an optimal result.
According to customers, these products are actually more effective than measuring with a stick.
But last, but not least:
There are also electrical gauges to measure the water in the pool.
According to tests, these are not only the most precise method, but also offer the advantage that you – unlike for example the tablets – often only have to buy once.
Electrical measurements also have no negative effects on the water – there is no need to worry about power consumption or other limitations.

Extensions of the pool tester
In addition to pH meters, there is also the option of determining the water for bromine levels, chlorine and active oxygen.
These values also make a huge contribution to the purity of the water, but you should first read about the guidelines of the different values: For example, the chlorine values are measured on a scale of 0.3 to 3.0 mg, and the bromine values of 0, 66 to 6.66 mg per liter.

How many times a week should you measure your water?

Depending on what the starting point is: If you have problems with your water and it is obvious that this is the case, it is advisable to repeat the measurement several times a week.
For a „normal“ pool, take a check-up measurement about once a week to make sure everything is the same.

What should you look for when buying a pool water tester?

The most important thing is to combine efficiency and price. The more values that can be measured, the better, but the pH value plays the biggest role. Care should also be taken to ensure that it is as precise as possible and that the process is quick to save time.
