Swimming Pool water care guide

For many pool owners swimming in their own home wet is pure joy. Unfortunately, the pleasure can be quickly clouded as the quality of the water decreases progressively. To ensure a constant water quality, therefore, some aspects of water care must be taken into account. Many households assume that regular filtration in combination with chemical treatment is sufficient. However, this is only a small step to the clean pool water.

Regular checks of the water are essential

To purify the water effectively, two different steps are needed. On the one hand, the pool water should be chemically treated and, on the other hand, protected against further external influences such as the formation of algae. First, make sure that the pH of the water is within the optimal range. This is around 7.0 to 7.5. If the pH is significantly above or below this limit, the chlorine, which is essential for the disinfection of the water, loses its effect. Consequently, the thorough cleaning of the water is no longer guaranteed. For this reason, it is essential that the pH is tested regularly. In order to bring the pH value of the water back into the optimum range, the use of so-called pH sinkers or pH lifters from specialist retailers is recommended. By means of these funds, the value settles to the desired level and the chlorine combats germs and bacteria in the episode again more effectively. The chlorine content itself, however, is easier to regulate. This can be done on automatic dosing systems or on tabs, for example, chlorine tablets from Swimming PoolsBest. As an alternative to chlorine, it is also possible to use bromine or active oxygen, the latter being particularly recommendable owing to their properties. They work largely odorless and are kind to the skin.

Should the domestic poolDespite the regular use of chlorine or active oxygen plagued by algae, there are two ways to eliminate it. First, the pool should always be covered if possible, unless someone bathes in it. Without UV light, algae can not grow. In order to master strong algae infestation, usually only the handle to powerful algicites from the specialized trade helps. It is important to make sure that the Algizit is specifically designed for use in the pool.

Know how – that’s how the treatment works

In order to ensure optimum water care, in addition to the right products for disinfection and cleaning, good filtration and regular circulation are required. Otherwise, the chemical treatment of water remains almost ineffective. In order to increase the effectiveness of the chemical agents, it must be ensured that also the physical water treatment works flawlessly. In order to reach this point, the highest possible filter technology should be used. The more effective the filter, the less chemicals it needs to clean the water. In addition, the filter system should also be used regularly. In summer, pool water often reaches a temperature of about 25 degrees. With this condition, germs and bacteria can already live and spread very well. In order to kill them, the water should therefore be circulated at least once, better even twice a day using the filter system. In addition to the filter system, the use of flocculants such as HOME SWIM is recommended. The flocculants ensure that fine dirt particles, also called colloids, are bound and thus become larger. Without this bond, the particles are so small that they usually can not be detected by the filter and filtered out of the water.
