Coffee specialty from the original mocha pot

Mocha is a traditional Italian coffee specialty that became well known in Germany in the 1930s. To properly prepare a traditional mocha, use one mocha pot unavoidable.

What does one see mocha pot actually out?

A traditional one mocha pot exists in the lower part of one water tank, On this there is a funnel-shaped filter. Preparing a perfect mocha

The coffee for an optimal result must not be ground too finely. The water should be heated with moderate heat and the mocha should never be kept warm for too long. To prepare a perfect mocha, the mocha pot should be filled with cold water just below the safety valve. Then the filter is used and completely filled with coffee powder. The coffee powder should under no circumstances be pressed. Now it must be ensured that the filter insert and the rubber seal are firmly seated. Now both parts of the Mokkakanne are screwed together and the jug on a low heat on the stoveposed. When the coffee begins to bubble, the mocha pot must be taken off the stove immediately. In this way it is ensured that only the tastiest flavors are extracted from the coffee. Before serving, the mocha is stirred again with a spoon. Then he comes to the mocha cups.

Cleaning and care of the mocha pot

So that the next mocha is just as aromatic and delicious as the last, a mocha pot should never be cleaned with chemical additives. As a rule, it is sufficient to thoroughly rinse the mocha pot with warm water and let it dry well until it is used again. Detergent has lost absolutely nothing when cleaning the mocha pot. Especially when cleaning the filter care should be taken to avoid residues or deposits.

Inauguration of the new mocha pot

If you want to inaugurate a brand new, never used mocha pot or have replaced the rubber seal on your old one, first try some trial runs to avoid influences on the taste of mocha. The mocha pot should first be used two or three times with water or with already cooled coffee. For new or long-time unused mocha pails can be a cleaning with a solution of water and vinegarbe beneficial. However, then the rubber seal should be removed first. You should not drink the first prepared mocha in any case. It is better to first prepare two or three mocha with a little powder and simply throw away this coffee. Incidentally, moka powder can be excellently opened in a hermetically sealed container after opening fridgeto preserve the flavor. The clean mocha pot should also be kept in a dry place where it can not oxidize. Then nothing stands in the way of a wonderful Mokkagenuss in the way.
