The concept of motorcycle boots

Boots for bikers are not profane boots or shoes, as they are common in everyday life. Instead, they serve primarily to protect the driver. They stabilize the foot, give it a secure hold and, moreover, are still comfortable in many cases. There are different variants, which are intended for special applications and all-rounders, which are conditionally suitable for all areas of use, but have no special functionality.

The general characteristics of biker boots

The special types of motorcycle boots

– Allrounder (touring boots)
These types are usually made of leather and are often equipped with reflectors. They usually contain only a necessary minimum of protectors and accordingly offer the driver only the absolutely necessary basic protection. Mainly they are worn on longer trips. For opening and closing, most models are equipped with zip or velcro fasteners. High-quality models of this category, however, offer a little more protection and are also partially equipped with sanding pads as in sports boots.

They are made of either leather or synthetic fabric and often have vents that increase breathability. They are designed for sporty driving. – Ankle boots (short boots)

Motorcycle boots made of imitation leather are also suitable for such occasional rides, but they should definitely be breathable as well as resistant to water and abrasion.

– Enduro and cross boots
The features are similar to the sports boots, but they are designed for higher demands. Therefore, the shaft is extra high and in the toe area additional metal caps are available. These types are designed for extremely sporty driving or for high speeds.

– Cross-over motorcycle boots
These boots are a combination of off-road and touring boots. They offer high protection, easy handling and are suitable for longer trips, as well as occasional off-road driving.
