Christina Pierangeli includes movement combinations from jazz, modern, African, and ballet in her teaching. She provides students and teachers with an understanding of the language of dance and a hands-on exploration of different modes of dance from various cultures.

Students will learn movements designed to increase their range of motion and explore the concepts of space and time. Divided into groups, students layer their individual movement studies into a dance work based on themes such as children's songs, the alphabet, emotions, world events, or a learned concept from a curricular area.

Suitable for grades K-12

Education/Experience: BA in Dance, Mercyhurst College; MEd, Temple University; many artist residencies; teaching experience with elementary level physically challenged.

Special Training: Pennsylvania and Delaware Institutes for the Arts in Education teaching artist and curriculum administrator. Director of Dance Curriculum at Freedom Theatre.

Education Resource Artist
Chris Pierangeli works with students and teachers exploring how different modes of dance interrelate with other cultures and subject areas. Students can create, choreograph, and perform dances based on themes from social studies, language arts, and other subject areas.
