Clem Bowen
Storytelling
284 W. Avondale Road
West Grove, PA 19390
610-869-8399
Clem Bowen began performing at the age of 9. He studied pantomime at Le Centre du Slience in Boulder, CO, clowning with the Salt Lake City mime troupe and
theatre and dance at the University of Delaware. Through many years and thousands of performances, Clem has created a unique story, music, and movement experience.
Clem's workshops are fun, funny, and highly participatory. Exercises in vocalization and gesture, pantomime, and use of props provide the basis for development of a personal experience story. Workshops for teachers and therapists focus on the use of stories and storytelling techniques in therapy and the classroom.
Clem is an instrument maker and member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. He works as a music therapist with people who have Alzheimer's and other dementias.
“In 25 years of teaching, I have never seen anyone with Clem Bowen's ability for positive interactions with groups of children. His musical and dramatic talent is coupled with an uncommon understanding of group and individual needs.”
